CRANSTON, R.I. (WJAR) — The woman at the center of “Celebrity Apprentice” firing spoke with NBC 10 News Wednesday, giving her side of the story.
Maria Kanellis-Bennett is a professional wrestler, as well as a student at Johnson & Wales University in Providence.
In 2010, she was a contestant on the reality TV show. As she sat with Donald Trump in the boardroom, she made a comment about another contestant that upset Trump.
“You came in our dressing room and took a crap, and left the stench in our room,” Kanellis-Bennett said of her co-star, with Trump replying, “This is my boardroom, not a locker room. Maria, you’re fired.”
Kanellis-Bennett admits her words were locker room talk. While she doesn’t apologize for it, she said the presidential candidate went way too far when he was caught on tape making vulgar comments about women.
“What Trump said is assault, and he’s making it glamorous,” Kanellis-Bennett said. “It’s disrespectful. It’s degrading, and it’s just plain rude.”
The former WWE Diva and Ring of Honor superstar currently performs for TNA Wrestling with her husband, Mike. Both have been in many locker rooms.
“If I heard a guy say that in the locker room, it would go from like, joking and then if they said what Trump said, you’d go, ‘What?’” Mike said.
Trump’s comments may have put the sleeper hold on his chances to win the election in November. For Kanellis-Bennett, they’re already down for the count.
“The President of the United States should represent the best of American culture, and right now, he’s representing the worst,” she said.
NBC 10 also asked Kanellis-Bennett if it’s safe to say that she’s voting for Hillary Clinton. She said while she’s not sure yet if she will vote for Clinton, she definitely won’t vote for Trump.
Mike tweeted on October 11 that he landed a movie role. Now today we have found out what movie it is, here is the press release for Anders Manor:
Woodhaven Media has teamed up with 2-Cousins Productions to bring you, ANDERS MANOR…
t’s Amy’s 18th birthday. While most girls her age are celebrating with friends and painting the town, Amy is checking herself out of the insane asylum. Her mother Jane decides to take her on a family get away, to celebrate her birthday and re-acclimate her to everyday life. A weekend of, camp fires, and cotton candy socials, to rekindle family ties, quickly turns to the most horrific family reunion in American history. And it all goes down at ANDERS MANOR.
Producer Tommy DeNucci (Almost Mercy) has joined Executive Producers Glenn Jeffery, Matt O’Conner, Richard Switzer, David Gere, Tanya Lynch, and tapped Jonathan Schermerhorn to direct the film.
Schermerhorn will make his directorial debut based off the screenplay, written by Mike Messier, Tom DeNucci, Matt O’Conner, and Glenn Jeffery.
“True to the last Woodhaven film, Almost Mercy, this project is uniquely layered with eerie elements that will straight away shock audiences.” – David Gere
Christina Robinson (Dexter) has been brought on to play the lead, Amy. Godsmack front man, Sully Erna has also come aboard, Rachel True (The Craft) along with, Kevin Nash (Magic Mike, John Wick) who is doing something totally out of character as Reverend Thomas and TNA Impact Wrestling superstar Michael Bennett will be portraying an unruly redneck character named Darsaw.
Other guests at ANDERS MANOR, will be played by Tanja Lynch (Bleed For This), Eric Lutes (How To Get Away With Murder), Mark Sullivan, David Tessier, Michael Zuccola, Danielle Guldin, Mike Messier, Pamela Morgan, and Armen Garo (Vinyl, The Sopranos) round out the cast.
“The Cousins”, Glenn & Matt, came to me with Anders Manor a long time ago and showed a lot of passion, and drive to get their movie made. I really respected that and liked their concept, so we started working together along with Messier & “Sherm” to craft this story into a classic scary movie, worth watching. It’s been a while since I’ve made a horror film, so I was excited to go back to my roots, and make a great movie in the genre where it all started for me.” – Tommy DeNucci
Anders Manor will be shot entirely on the ground in Rhode Island, with principal photography beginning in late October.
This could be the most intense work of horror to ever come out of Woodhaven Media. Rhode Island is sure to be drenched in blood once filming is complete. HorrorNews.net is scheduled to be on location during the filming of ANDERS MANOR later this month.

We cut to inside the arena and Mike Bennett is in the ring with Maria. The “Miracle” Mike Bennett claims that he is the biggest star in TNA history, has a near perfect record and that he is the greatest X division champ of all time…. Out comes Dixie Carter to confront Mike Bennett. She tells Mike Bennett that he can only use Option C if he competes in an Ultimate X match with the entire X Division roster. Dixie declares that the match is going to happen right now.
“ULTIMATE X” X DIVISION TITLE MATCH
Mike Bennett vs Trevor Lee vs Eddie Edwards vs Andrew Everett vs Rockstar Spud vs Braxton Sutter vs Mandrews vs DJ Z
Trevor Lee and Andrew Everett head to the ring as Impact goes to commercial break……
Back from the break, Eddie Edwards arrives to the ring as the final entrant in the Ultimate X Match. The action starts on the inside and outside. DJ Z does a springboard flying plancha to the outside. Spud is the first to attempt to to climb to the top of the ring and grab the X Division title but is stopped by Braxton Sutter. Rockstar Spud suffers what appears to be a mouth injury and is rushed to the back. Good back and forth action inside the ring between Everett and Mandrews before both are laid out by Sutter. After several high risk moves put competitors to the outside. 4 competitors attempt to climb to the championship but all 4 crash and burn when Trevor Lee and Everett team together. Lee attempts to ride the shoulders of Everett to get the title when Mike Bennett intervenes and breaks up their attempt. Mike Bennett is left alone in the ring and tries to jump vertically to the title from the center of the ring but is unsuccessful. Bennett tries to climb from the cable from the corner but Eddie Edwards stops Bennett with a hurrancanrana . Action spills to the outside again as the X division wrestlers take turns doing aerial moves to the outside. Fast and furious action as everyone is laid out temporarily on the outside. Mandrews climbs high to the near top of the structure and does a moonsault onto the wrestlers. Mike Bennett struggles back in to the ring as does Mandrews. Bennett is once again, left alone in the ring. Mike Bennett pulls out a ladder to attempt to climb for the title but Eddie Edwards emerges and does a baseball slide directly into the ladder stopping “The Miracle”. Ladder is set up inside the ring and Edwards attempts to glide across the cables to get the title. Bennett arrives in the ring and attempts to climb the ladder but is kicked off of it by Eddie Edwards. Edwards gets to the X division title and wins the match.
ULTIMATE X MATCH WINNER- NEW X DIVISION CHAMPION EDDIE EDWARDS
Meanwhile back in a wrestling ring…… An Angry Mike Bennett is upset that he has lost his option C and X Division Title. Maria calls out Dixie Carter but instead Billy Corgan comes out to the ring. Maria pleads with Corgan to hear their grievances and that she should be the president of TNA and not Dixie Carter. Maria demands that it is either her or Dixie that will remain with the company. Out comes Dixie, Maria hides behind “The Miracle” because she doesn’t trust Dixie. She then begins to scream “You or Me” repeatedly at Dixie. Carter says she is calling Maria’s bluff and that Maria is a manipulator and that Dixie hired them to make a difference in the company and not be a joke. Mike Bennett states that he is the reason everyone watches TNA and is demanding that he is put into the main event at Destination X or he and Maria will walk. Back to more Maria “Me or You” ranting. Billy Corgan yells to defuse the situation. He compliments Maria and The Miracle but then proceeds to call them children. Corgan says that Bennett blew his chance and that is backing Dixie Carter. Corgan says if Bennett and Maria want to leave, He will hold the door open for them. Bennett says he is not going to leave but instead, He is going to ruin the entire Destination X show. They both leave the ring.
Bennett storms into the ring and attacks EC3 to cause the disqualification. After the match Bennett puts the boots to EC3 and drops him with the Miracle In Progress. Bennett grabs the mic and says that EC3’s Road to Redemption has come to a screeching halt. Bennett told EC3 that he needed to follow all the rules in order to get his match for Slammiversary and EC3 didn’t get the job done.
Maria Kanellis finds Dixie Carter backstage, thanks her profusely for having Mike Bennett and herself in TNA, and asks Dixie to meet up with Bennett out in the ring to tell her how she can be a part of a Miracle. She also has an idea about how she can take a leadership role in TNA, but Dixie says she saw what happened between her and Gail, and like Gail, she believes actions say more than words.
We see a Decay promo video, then we head to the arena where Mike Bennett and Maria are already in the ring. Bennett says the Miracle that is happening tonight is that TNA needs him now more than ever since one of the greatest wrestlers ever, who cheap shotted him and ducked him, by the way, is on his way out the door. That means that the Miracle will be named the #1 contender to the TNA World Title, and once that happens, he’ll be the TNA World Champion and save the world of pro wrestling. Bennett asks Dixie to come on down and make this Miracle happen, but he gets Drew Galloway instead, and Drew does not look happy. Drew says they think they just get things handed to them, but if he can offer Bennett some advice, it’s to fight more and stop running his mouth like a bitch. Drew tries to start a fight with Bennett, but Maria holds him back. Bennett says Drew begged Kurt Angle for a second match because he couldn’t do it the first time, he only has a title shot because he won it in a lottery game show, and he orders Drew to go to the back and get Dixie. Drew says he could do that, but he could also…oh, Drew suckerpunches Bennett and hammers him with punches. Bennett takes Drew down, but Drew gets on top, more punches, then nearly tears Bennett in half with a clothesline. Drew goes for the Claymore Kick, but Bennett bails out to the floor and yells at Drew for ruining his moment.

On weekly broadcasts of IMPACT Wrestling, it’s easy to hate “The Miracle” Mike Bennett’s cocky attitude and ruthless ambition. Outside the ring, though, the man so determined to destroy Total Nonstop Action’s most popular wrestlers en route to the World Heavyweight title is an admirable advocate for LGBT equality.
Prior to arriving in TNA earlier this year, Bennett etched his place as one of the hottest tag team wrestlers in sports entertainment today. Known as “The Kingdom” with partner Matt Taven, and with stunning wife (and former Playboy covergirl) Maria Kanellis by his side, Bennett won championship gold in Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling (IWGP).
